Today, More Than Ever the World Needs Heroes
Word hero is derived from the Greek word for warrior. It literally means protector or defender. What does it mean to be a hero in a modern world? Is it someone fulfilling an ambition with great personal and physical struggle, or is it someone doing something for the good of the mankind? And why do we all need heroes – what is it about certain people that inspires us, and makes us perceive them as examples of greatness?
A hero is a person who goes ahead alone, while for him it is not clear whether he is alone or not. Like a ram that goes ahead without asking sheep what they think about it. You can doubt your ability to complete the journey, but having the strength of character and purpose to overcome your own fears about completing it – that’s the stuff of heroes, that’s what inspires others.
Heroes follow their inner compass, their intuition. Heroes don’t know what’s going to happen but they know that they are on the right path. Columbus would never have discovered a new world if he first wanted to make sure that this world existed. Action and facing challenges enable us to discover our hidden potential.
One of the biggest secrets to success is operating inside your strength zone, but outside your comfort zone. A zone of high risk and high reward is a zone in which you might fail incredibly or you might succeed incredibly. Spending time in this zone will help you discover your inner hero.
Heroes know how to live outside their comfort zone, actually they are seeking for it. They are facing new challenges and experiences with ease. If this sounds like dangerous territory, it can be. But there are ways to get into the fearless mindset. The first is to consciously maintain a positive attitude so that, no matter what you encounter, you’ll be able to learn the lessons of the experience and continue to push forward. Mind and body are one, BUT the body doesn’t control the mind, it influences our way of thinking. The mind controls our body.
So… if you hear a call, if you feel that a great journey is in front of you, stop overthinking and set up the direction. Stop complaining about your lack of resources. No matter what your station in life is, it’s easy to think that you don’t have enough resources. Resources are never the main problem. You will never have enough resources. You will never have enough experience. The biggest challenge is simply a man’s will to act. Just do it!
Ask yourself “What is the right thing to do?” Let’s face it … now more than ever the world needs heroes. The World needs people who will be courageous and act on principle. Be in the moment and act. You can’t afford to wait for the circumstances to be perfect. Stop your inner voices and connect with yourself. Be open to hearing a call and response to it! If you don’t want to do it for yourself, do it for others.
The world needs you!
